Welcome to The Saints Dramatic Society
Drama Group in Coventry
The Saints Dramatic Society was established in 1959 and produces three plays per year. The Group is based at Allesley Village Hall and performs in February, May and October, with a wide ranging selection of plays, including well known classics, comedy, mystery, farce and thriller.
The enthusiastic members have a wide range of experience and offer the opportunity to "tread the boards" and take part in all aspects of theatre. As well as our three performances a year, there is a regular reading group for those not acting, plus occasional workshops for the whole group to develop confidence both technical and performance aspects of theatre.
The Saints is a friendly and sociable group of all ages, and we meet every Monday and Thursday in Allesley Village Hall, at 7.30 pm. A club night is usually held on the last Thursday in the month for members to socialise and it is not uncommon for members to visit the local pub after rehearsals.
If you are interested in any aspect of theatre - acting or directing, stage management, set design, costume, lighting and sound - and would like to see what we do, please just come along. New members over 18 are always welcome.
The Group makes regular charitable donations to local and small charities, nominated by the members. Recent donations have been made to the NSPCC, the Albert Kennedy Trust, the British Heart Foundation, Coventry and District Samaritans, Alzheimer's Society - Coventry and Myton Hospice . We also support Allesley Village Hall with cash donations and labour, for maintenance and repair projects.
